Fish, on a Friday?

For dinner today, I have had what can only be described as a "Pensioners Meal". It consisted of boil in the bag pollock in parsley sauce (I'm sure I remember liking it from school dinners), mashed potatoes, peas and carrots. I don't know why I've eaten this, I don't like it much, it didn't taste of anything and I'm left feeling deeply unsatisfied on this Friday evening when all I wanted was something delicious. I am of course making up for this with the last of the Christmas chocolates - although strangely this year someone's eaten all the toffee pennies!?!

We've also been food shopping after surving on Christmas rations, and had a big debate in the supermarket on the origins of "greens". His Lordship wanted to know what exactly they were, and would not be satisfied with the term "greens." I suspect they are from the cabbage family and said as much hoping that would be the end of it. Still, we'll be eating them tomorrow so he'll get the chance to make up his own mind.

I understood 'greens' to be the term that covered any veg that was the colour green which would include the likes of peas and asparagus etc. As for fish in white sauce it would be my idea of hell, however nice it was presented. You are a braver man than I gunga din.
Enjoy your greens and go easy on his Lordship, if he has to do all the DIY he will need feeding properly to maintain his strength??

That processed food is no good for you. I've told you to cut that out of your diet and you will feel much better.

Aunty Sonia - the fish was horrific. I have three more in the freezer, I'll eat them when there's nothing else.

We're having lamb chops (His Lordship is having quorn lamb steaks) tomorrow though to make up for it!

Cousin dearest, I'm feeling fine, and you have to try these things to know you don't like them, otherwise the temptation is always there!
